We have long been a fan of the work by Portuguese artist Ana Raimundo, aka Fric de Mentol, so we're delighted to share a peek at what is currently in her hoop.
Twig Couple is the artwork I have in progress in the hoop. Representing a domestic scene, a portrait of a woman and a man, personifying their connection and relation in a tree that grows healthy twigs.
The couple was originally sketched and watercolored, then drawn in black and white to get a more graphic composition with the patterns and lines inspired in natural elements. Finally the drawing was reproduced on linen with screenprint
and it will be happily colored with threads.
