January Finish-Along on &Stitches
Happy Monday to you! As Julie mentioned last week, we're starting the year with a Finish-Along. We've all got them, don't we? Those projects that we just can't seem to finish. Maybe it's the thought of the time it will take, maybe it's for someone else and your hearts not quite in it. Perhaps the colours aren't quite right and you just can't stand the thought of having to rip it out and re-do it. Oy. Or maybe life just got in the way!

Whatever the reason, what we want to do with this Finish-Along is to channel a collective positive energy into all those projects so they can go from being UFOs (unfinished objects) to LFOs (lovely finished objects.)

We can totally do this together! If you want to play along and finish some stuff, please do write a blog post about it (or share it somewhere else you can link to it) and then share the link in the form below. And you're welcome to share more than one project. The project can be anything as long as it has a fairly big element of embroidery to it. Say, 70% should be embroidery. So a knitted sweater doesn't belong in this Finish-Along. Unless the thing you want to finish is some embroidery on it. ;-)

We're leaving the link collection open until February 13th, so let's see how many projects we can get finished, yes! :-)

Embroidered jacket WIP
The project I am hoping to finish - or atleast get started on again!- is this embroidery I started on a jacket last spring. I really like it but life kinda got in the way of it, so it's basically been in the wardrobe since this summer.

Embroidered jacket WIP
The original plan was to just embroider on the yoke, but I am tempted to extend the stitching down the back as well. Probably won't finish that this month, but if I can atleast get going again. So I'd have my stitched jacket finished to wear in the spring that would be awesome! :-)

What are you stitching? Please share in the &Stitches Flickr group. We'd love to see it!

  2. I only have one unfinished project hanging around, (by which I mean, not a recent start that I'm working on properly). It doesn't really qualify as a UFO as I intend to complete it and take it out every few months to work a bit more on it. Maybe I should use this challenge as a way to boost my motivation to finally lick it??=)

  6. I've taken out a crewel project I started 2 years ago but which stalled when I ran out of wool! I've recently taken in out and started it again, with different wool, and I plan to finish it very soon. Can I link this up? Do I need to write an introductory post, or just link when I finish?

    1. Your crewel project sounds absolutely perfect for this challenge, Wendy! :-)

And you don't have to link up an introduction if you don't feel like it - although it would be awesome to see the before and (hopefully finished) after!
