About &Stitches

In late 2010, stitchy pals Carina Envoldsen-Harris and Nicole Vos van Avezathe had an idea for an e-zine about stitching. Well, actually, they first thought of collaborating on an embroidery pattern, but why stop there? In the summer of 2011, &Stitches really ‘hatched’: a quarterly e-zine, all about modern stitching with a strong focus on embroidery of all types. In 2012, Julie Zaichuk-Ryan joined the team and together we are the benign leaders of &Stitches.

The 'zine was put on an indefinite break in April 2013, but who knows? Maybe we’ll bring it back one day. Like a rock band, we'll dust off those studded jean jackets and polish the guitar case for a comeback tour! Now we focus on the &Stitches blog, exploring the stitchy things we love and sharing that love with our readers. The &Stitches team are stitchy geeks; from discussions about how to organise your embroidery floss, to sci-fi patterns, to dusting off long-forgotten techniques. We host swaps and stitch-alongs and love to feature guest bloggers - do you have a topic you want to share with our readers? Get in touch!

Our blogging team has grown to seven awesome stitchers: Carina, Nicole, Julie, Rebecca, Christine, Sophie, and Cate. Find out more about each of the team members here.
